Ian Hancock moved to the United States from London, England in 2006 and founded HM Equity Management.
Ian has been engaged in real estate investment since 1995 and built a significant property portfolio in prime central London. Since settling in Houston, Texas he has been the lead partner in the acquisition of 29 multi-family apartment communities and the sale of 26, across Texas. Currently, HM Equity manages 5 multi-family apartment communities.
Ian holds a BSc (Hons) in Estate Management from the University of Reading (UK) and is also a professionally qualified Chartered Surveyor. As CEO of HM Equity, he also launched a successful third-party management platform serving clients via the HM Equity operational team.
Benjamin Cohen, Partner
Benjamin holds a Bachelor of Science degree and played college soccer on a scholarship from 2018 to 2021. With five years of real estate experience, he began his career at the age of 21 and was directly involved in over $150 million in acquisitions, managing underwriting analysis, capital markets, acquisitions, and broker relations for a syndication firm based in Charlotte, NC.
Benjamin has acquired 2 assets as a direct GP and now works on the ground in Houston alongside Ian to handle acquisitions and dispositions on behalf of HM Equity Management.
